We started with a Psychologist who specializes in couples therapy. We saw her on and off for over 3 years. Things got better for a little while but we both inevitably went back to our ways and our relationship was not getting better. Fast-forward a year and I was frustrated and basically done. I wanted to separate and a friend who’s a life coach said before I did anything, I should call Karen and have a conversation with her. Within the first 20 minutes of my 90 minute free consultation, I had a couple of huge breakthroughs!!! My whole attitude and mind-set shifted. Karen is incredible and literally SAVED my 25+ year marriage!!! It’s worth every penny!
Jane D., Westchester
I have been working with Lisa Brick from Journey Beyond Divorce since the mother of my children and I separated almost one year ago. She has proven to be an outstanding resource for me in the professional support I receive - in the form of referrals to other wellness professionals, legal advisors, etc. More importantly, Lisa has been a kind, informative, supportive, and gentle voice when we have our hour long coaching sessions and follow ups post phone calls.
From the individual attention I receive, as well as the podcasts and informative articles they provide, JBD is a comprehensive source to help me navigate the often times dark waters of divorce. I cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone finding themselves in need of such services.
Physician, NYC
As a guy we tend to want to 'suck it up' and get over things. I decided to take a different path and credit much of my healing and how fast it happened to the resources and support I received through JBD. I went from focusing on what had been done to me to what I could do for me! I learned to set boundaries, forgive others and myself, how to endure the waves of regret and guilt.
How Can Coaching Help?
Divorce coaching is a partnership specifically designed to help you clarify, believe in and attain your hopes and dreams as you move through the storm of divorce.
Together we create a path to clarity while providing a healthy sounding board with which you can examine your fears and the obstacles in your path and identify your deepest desires.
If you are struggling yet ready to move forward towards feeling empowered; stuck yet wanting to shift to a place where you can create a future you love, then engaging in divorce coaching is right for you.
How Does it Work?
We begin the coaching relationship discussing the goals and aspirations that are most important to you. At first, your emotional survival may be all you can aim for. As time goes on, your new sense of confidence and empowerment will enhance your hopes and dreams.
As the client you are in charge, deciding the focus of each session. Each week we explore a topic of your choosing, looking at your struggles, your ideal outcome and where are you feeling stuck. During the session you develop clarity, unearth the obstacles that are keeping you from moving forward and finally develop new awareness and create action plans to attain your goals.
You are guaranteed to feel more confident and empowered to handle both the issues at hand as well as your overall circumstances with a renewed inner strength.
Working with a divorce coach helps you to become aware of your resistance and begin to embrace your circumstances so that you can move through them and be open to the possibilities that lie on the other side.
